Omid Rafieian is an Assistant Professor at Cornell Tech and the SC Johnson School of Management at Cornell University. Omid’s research interests broadly encompass topics related to digital marketing, mobile advertising, personalization, and privacy. His work examines these topics through two complementary lenses – (1) how can we utilize the recent advancements in machine learning to create value in digital marketplaces, and (2) how can we use theory-driven structural frameworks to study the marketing and economic implications of such developments.
Omid earned his Bachelor degree in Applied Mathematics from Sharif University of Technology in 2015, and his Ph.D. in Marketing from the Foster School of Business at the University of Washington in 2020. His doctoral dissertation won multiple awards such as Marketing Science Institute Alden G. Clayton Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Competition, Vithala R. and Saroj V. Rao INFORMS Society for Marketing Science (ISMS) Doctoral Dissertation Award, and American Statistical Association Doctoral Research Award.
