This week in the studio was “Sprint Week.” It was the final session before students presented their projects and faculty selected teams to present at Open Studio — the end of semester celebration of students’ work..
As they prepared for their own presentations, students heard a presentation from the founder of Ananas, a peer-to-peer play-based language learning application for children.
To help students as they prepare these final presentations, Chief Entrepreneurial Officer Greg Pass highlighted the Ananas presentation as an excellent example of an effective presentation. Pass went on to talk about the principles underlying the presentation’s effectiveness.
In addition to preparing for their presentations, Cornell Tech students are working to finalize their products so the final Hack Day can be spent cleaning up any remaining bugs.
One group closing in on the final stages of their project is the ff Venture Capital team, who are developing a tool that builds market maps on the fly. A market map is a diagram that plots products or companies in a certain industry using two variables. For venture capitalists, it helps them quickly assess potential competitors for startup investments.
The team identified and fixed coding problems they had over the past week and completed the front end of their product. While they still had a lot of work left to do, they put together a priority list of everything they could possibly accomplish to prepare to hack away at any roadblocks during the final Hack Day.
