In the fall, 130 master’s students in four programs will matriculate on campus, about one-third more students than this past year. As a group, the incoming students have considerable work experience, coming from companies ranging from fledgling startups to large, established corporations. Many have worked in tech, while others worked for non-profits, hospitals, investment firms or in media fields.
Students in the first class of the MS in Health Tech program given by the Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute will come from a range of countries including United States, Canada, China, United Kingdom and Sri Lanka.
The Jacobs Institute will also welcome a new cohort of Runway Postdocs to campus to develop their startup companies. The Institute will support—both through funding and mentorship—these recent PhDs who come from disciplines as varied as electrical engineering and biology. While their companies will have different focuses, a number will be tied to the Institute’s Health Tech and Connective Media hubs.
