Professors Ari Juels, Rafael Pass, Vitaly Shmatikov, and Thomas Ristenpart were recently chosen to receive Faculty Research Awards from Google for their work in the privacy and security field.
The awards were given to professors at universities around the world conducting groundbreaking research in Computer Science, Engineering and related fields.
“I think the strong representation of Cornell Tech faculty among Google’s awardees reflects our campus commitment to cultivating ties with Google and other industry leaders and to delivering research that is informed by and transforms practice,” Juels said.
Juels emphasized Cornell Tech’s group “has a special slant, aiming squarely at the gap between academic research and industry need.”
In addition to this most recent award, Juels and Shmatikov, with Professor Mor Naaman, received a grant from Google for the Open Web of Things Expedition.
