Fostering the next generation of innovators, leaders, and researchers shaping technology to achieve positive societal outcomes.
Since Cornell Tech’s founding in 2011, the societal and economic impacts of digital technology have only become more powerful, and with it, the growing desire among students, researchers, and practitioners to intentionally shape technology to serve public needs.
Our Public Interest Tech initiative (called PiTech) is addressing this demand with curated educational and engagement opportunities that apply technological expertise in service of public needs and incorporate public objectives explicitly into the pursuit of technical innovation.
We are actively building a community of impact-focused scholars and practitioners through PiTech Studio, Impact Fellowships, and our Visiting Practitioner’s Program. If you’d like to learn more or engage with PiTech, visit our website.
